The Mitre 10 Cup side weren't the only Auckland team to kick-off their respective campaign on Saturday. The Bs, Colts, Under 19A and Under 19 Development all got underway as well.

The Bs managed to get away with a closely fought win over Northland - a last minute penalty being required to secure the victory.

The Colts were the victims of the other side of the coin having led right up until the 80th minute before North Harbour scored a converted try to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
