Auckland Rugby Masterclass Series
The Auckland Rugby Masterclass series are skill development sessions run by experts for aspiring players. Each class will be based on a specific skill within rugby like kicking, the breakdown, tackling, scrummaging, etc. While these sessions are delivered to players, coaches are welcome to attend to pick up any pointers they can utilise back with their school or clubs.
KICKING MASTERCLASS

The Art of Kicking isn't always high on the list of skills we teach here in NZ. However the influence of a strong kicking game on the field and on the scoreboard has often determined the outcome of a game. Something our sharp shooting NPC backs coach Jono Hickey knows all about. The session he runs will look to build on a players ability to punt a ball, which can be used both offensively and defensively, as well as touching on nuances such as the box kick for halfbacks, and goal kicking for anyone brave enough to step up to the mark.
