Auckland Rugby appoint Head of High Performance


Auckland Rugby are pleased to announce Murray Williams as the Head of High Performance. Auckland Rugby continuously strives to win and be better supported in High Performance. The appointment of Murray will continue to cultivate one of the leading high performance rugby programs in New Zealand.

Murray is no stranger to a high performance environment on and off the rugby field, playing professionally for eight years before moving into national commercial roles with some of New Zealand’s leading brands.

Murray comes to Auckland Rugby after leading high performing teams for five years, most recently as the Head of Countdown for Wattie's (Kraft Heinz).

Murray is an Auckland Rugby Academy graduate and played for Ponsonby Rugby Club, representing the Ponies in triumphant Gallaher Shield victories in 2002 and 2004.

Murray debuted for the Blue and White Hoops in 2004 before making his way to Bay of Plenty and The Chiefs for three seasons. The former First-Five Eighth gathered international honours with Japan and represented the Brave Blossoms at the 2011 World Cup.
