Auckland gears up for Battle of the Bridge versus cross-town rivals North Harbour in round 3 of the NPC
Auckland Rugby is preparing for a heated battle with cross-town rivals North Harbour on Saturday 19 August in round 3 of the 2023 Bunnings Warehouse NPC.
Kicking off at 2.05pm, the match will be played at Harbour stronghold Onewa Domain, the home of Takapuna RFC on Auckland’s North Shore, and is expected to draw a large crowd of supporters from both sides of the bridge.
The Gulls are coming off the back of a 24 – 12 loss to the Tasman Mako in Blenheim last Saturday, while North Harbour will return to Onewa Domain after going down to Canterbury 28 – 24 there on Sunday.
Auckland is currently sitting 7th on the table, while North Harbour is in 9th position.
Head coach Craig McGrath has named his 23-man side he hopes will take home Super City bragging rights come Saturday afternoon.
