20 August 2024: Auckland Rugby has a brand-new set of wheels as part of a three-year deal with Suzuki, in partnership with Southern Autos Manukau & Botany.
The partnership will see staff from the union driving hybrid vehicles for the first time to reduce emissions.
The 22-strong fleet of Suzuki S-Cross, which predominantly features the new self-charging hybrid powertrain, will hit the road in mid-June, servicing Auckland Rugby staff across all departments including school, club, and high-performance rugby.
“Suzuki New Zealand is delighted to be partnering with Auckland Rugby. Suzuki has been a long-term supporter of sport throughout New Zealand so the involvement with the country’s largest rugby centre is a perfect fit for our brand” says Gary Collins, Suzuki NZ CEO.
“We are also pleased to be able to offer Auckland Rugby hybrid solutions to reduce their carbon footprint across their fleet.” Says Auckland Rugby Chief Executive Jarrod Bear.
The partnership includes match-day sponsorship of NPC and FPC games, back-of-jersey sponsorship for reserves across NPC and FPC teams, access to NPC and FPC players for promotional purposes, and branding across the vehicle fleet.
Suzuki is one of the world’s most successful automotive brands, enjoying a reputation as an innovative leader in compact car, motorcycle, marine, and 4WD technology.
Suzuki offers a wide range of small cars and SUVs, including the S-Cross Hybrid – a new addition to the hybrid range offering the latest in safety technology, complete with a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, 360-degree view camera, parking sensors, and Android and wireless Apple CarPlay.
